It is very easy to say that I saved them. Andromeda was found in my garden, Virgo was part of the second litter a friend’s mama cat had, and needed to be “rehomed”; Cassiopeia and Pegasus were foster kitties, Onyx and Lynx were strays I took in, Jase was very ill and abandoned by a neighbor when they moved out. The truth is, they saved me. In so many ways, my furry felines rescued me. They made me a better person, taught me unconditional love, and compassion and empathy I’m not sure I’d have had otherwise.
For all the nerd that I am, there has long been this creative outlet called sewing and crafts. I have sewn since I was five, made my own wedding gown, made countless clothing items, home dec, quilts, created patterns, machine embroidery, you name it. It is my sanity place. When the world gets to be too much, I escape to my sewing room. And my idea of Christmas break is three weeks locked in my sewing room, watching College Football bowl games while playing with fabric and my sewing machines.
My dad imbued me with an incredible sense of humor from an early age. They say Laughter is the best medicine. I say Laughter is the grease in the wheels of life, and if you’re not laughing, you’re crying. My firmly held objective is to make at least one person laugh really hard each day. I believe that it is impossible to be really angry and laughing at the same time, so, if I’ve made you laugh, I’ve kept you from road rage, beating your spouse or pet, or committing some other act of rage. Please join me in my journey through humor in finding the humor in every day life.
